Weekly Schedule
Something new each Saturday.
Life, the universe and my circumstances permitting.
I'm focusing on 'family stories' at the moment. ("A Change of Pace: Family Stories" (11/23/2024))- Category: Family Stories
But if something else caught and held my interest during the week, that's what I'll share.

Blizzard: It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas
(Wednesday noon, December 23, 2020; my webcam’s view of Sauk Centre’s south side.) Tuesday afternoon’s winter storm warning for my part of central Minnesota became a blizzard warning in the evening. We were promised a chance of freezing rain. But … Continue reading
Eucharistic Adoration and Social Distancing
I was at the Eucharistic Adoration chapel yesterday, and the week before. Nothing unusual there. What was different about week before yesterday was that I left early. I’d arrived a half-hour early, again nothing unusual. It’s not that I’m so … Continue reading
Back from the Hospital: The Masked Minnesotan Rides Again
I didn’t feel all that sick Friday evening. That was August 21, 2020: 45 days ago. Online self-assessment guides from the Minnesota Department of Health and Mayo Clinic put me on the threshold of needing to call a doctor. My … Continue reading
Back at Mass
It’s been about four months since I’ve been at Mass. I don’t like that. But I see no point in kvetching about the COVID-19 pandemic, or blaming Minnesota’s governor for trying to keep Minnesotans alive, or our bishop for cooperating … Continue reading
Another Pandemic Monday
The Covid-19 pandemic persists, but progress progresses here in central Minnesota. And our Peacetime Emergency rules are still changing. Which I think makes sense. Our world, pandemic included, is still changing. I’d be concerned if the rules we use didn’t … Continue reading
