Weekly Schedule
Something new each Saturday.
Life, the universe and my circumstances permitting.
I'm focusing on 'family stories' at the moment. ("A Change of Pace: Family Stories" (11/23/2024))- Category: Family Stories
But if something else caught and held my interest during the week, that's what I'll share.

I didn’t feel all that sick Friday evening. That was August 21, 2020: 45 days ago. Online self-assessment guides from the Minnesota Department of Health and Mayo Clinic put me on the threshold of needing to call a doctor. My … Continue reading
COVID-19 and Minnesota Masks
Good news: the SARS-CoV-2 virus isn’t killing us nearly as fast as it was in April, May and the first part of June. Bad news: the COVID-19 pandemic is still in progress. Minnesotans are still dying. So are folks in … Continue reading
Storms, COVID-19 and Politics
Several decades back, while I was living with my parents in Moorhead, Minnesota, a radio announcer read the day’s weather forecast. Nothing unusual about that. The forecast was another matter. As I recall, the National Weather Service was telling us … Continue reading
Patriot Dreams
The Fourth of July is Independence Day for the United States. It’s also the anniversary of Alice in Wonderland’s inspiration and Pulcheria’s first day as regent. Folks could celebrate Earth’s aphelion today. We’ll be getting nearer our sun until early … Continue reading
Spirit Photographs
My wife asked me if I knew some of my ancestors were spiritualists. She’d seen an odd picture of my Campbell forebears while putting together a family photo album. This was in September, 2011. I had, and even knew a … Continue reading
