On Monday, July 26, 2004, Chris Hinnenkamp is
accused of stabbing Shannon Olson and taking her pickup. Happily, he
dropped her 5-year-old son in downtown Sauk Centre before disappearing
with the pickup.
She is expected to recover, and her son apparently was unhurt. The next week was rather tense, especially for the families involved. On Tuesday, I heard that Chris Hinnenkamp was in custody. He and the pickup had gotten as far as Butte, Montana. As I'm writing this, on Thursday, August 5, news reports say that he is back in this area, in a juvenile detention facility in Willmar. I'd like to thank everyone who came to this page for information which may have led to Chris Hinnenkamp's safe return. There's one more thing: Please pray for the Hinnenkamp family, and for the Olson family. These folks are going through a very difficult time. Brian H. Gill,
