I’m working on a “Christmas” post that should be ready by tomorrow morning. But in case it’s not, here’s something seasonal and slightly silly.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Pip’s Christmas<\/h4>\n

‘Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the shop
\nNothing was stirring, you could hear a pin drop.
\nThe sleigh was not ready, the toys were not packed,
\nSanta was fuming, quite lacking in tact.<\/p>\n

“Pip!” he called out to the foreman on duty,
\nWhere is your crew? And don’t act so snooty!
\nPip’s feelings were hurt, but he wondered the same
\nWere they lost? Had they left? Were they playing a game?<\/p>\n

“Never mind!” thundered Santa, while grabbing his sack,
\n“We’ll do it ourselves: There are toys in the back.”
\nSo into the warehouse like madmen they flew.
\nSanta and Pip had much packing to do.<\/p>\n

And then, down a corridor seldom in use,
\nThey heard something like an hysterical goose.
\nBut no, there were words in that hideous shriek,
\nIt was music: now Santa was prone to critique.<\/p>\n

Santa strode to the source of that hideous din,
\nClosely followed by Pip, who beheld with chagrin:
\nThree elves and four bottles and, there on a chair,
\nA boom box whose music was filling the air.<\/p>\n

Santa stood for a moment, transfixed by the sight
\nThen he bellowed so loudly that Pip shook with fright.
\n“You! Chuckles! And Bubbles! And you, mister Suds!”
\nWhy are you carousing while in your work duds?”<\/p>\n

The fate of that threesome Pip would not relate,
\nExcept to recall that the hour was late:
\nAnd Santa was anxious to fly in his sleigh,
\nAnd dealt with loose ends on the following day.<\/p>\n
