(late evening, November 2, 2026)]

As usual, there’s been the usual discharge of “what really happened” claims: along with all-too-predictable mudslinging directed at ‘those people’.

On a related note, the lack of political invective in my news feed has surprised me. Maybe mainstream media realizes that we’re — well, that’s another topic.

At any rate, this 35-minuite video is almost as boring as the NTSB news briefing I watched this morning. I very highly recommend it.

These two pilots discuss what’s actually known as of today: where the LearJet 60 crashed, that nine people aboard died, and that there was severe weather near that part of Florida.

They also talk about icing, aircraft technology, and why the more colorful “what really happened” assertions are not at all reasonable. That’s being polite.

Treating People With Respect

Finally, I greatly appreciated a point one of them made, regarding a particularly egregious public remark about one of the dead pilots. Petter Hörnfeldt expressed the opinion that “dignity and respect” is very important.

I think he’s right.

All Souls’ Day: Just a Suggestion

At least nine people died when a <s>private</s> business jet crash left a crater between a trailer park and a fast-food eatery. Something like 600 folk who had been living in the trailer park have been evacuated. I hope they can return to their homes soon.

No pressure at all: praying for the folks who rather abruptly stopped living, their families and friends, couldn’t hurt. It won’t unkill anyone, but: like I said, it couldn’t hurt.

On a not-entirely-unrelated topic, today is All Soul’s Day.

I’ve talked about this sort of thing before.
