(March 2021)\" align=\"right\"><\/a>I&#8217;m not your typical Catholic blogger.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This isn&#8217;t your typical Catholic blog.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I&#8217;m not sure what a typical Catholic blogger and the blogger&#8217;s blog would be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ask five folks to describe a &#8220;typical&#8221; Catholic blog, and you may get six answers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I searched [typical Catholic blog] in two search engines, Google and DuckDuckGo, and found very different results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Google Search showed me links to blogs by &#8220;Regular Catholic Individuals&#8221; and folks who may not approve of Vatican II.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The other one displayed an assortment of stuff written by folks who sound like Catholics I know. They&#8217;re not quite like me, which is hardly surprising.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a name=\"howmy\"><\/a>How My Second-Oldest Daughter Described Me<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<p>Not quite a dozen years back now (2024), number-two daughter and son-in-law were jumping through bureaucratic hoops in their effort to adopt a particular infant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among many other tasks, they were told to describe, in three words, the prospective adopters&#8217; parents. Which arguably makes sense. The point is that I was impressed, relieved, and pleased that number-two daughter&#8217;s three-word description of me didn&#8217;t cause trouble.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said, quite accurately, that I was:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Eccentric<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Scholarly<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Eclectic<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Maybe the second word wasn&#8217;t &#8220;scholarly&#8221;, but it was a synonym. And that&#8217;s another topic. Several, actually.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(Brian H.
