Getting There

Getting to The Merciful Jesus Carving in Sauk Centre is fairly easy. Sauk Centre, Minnesota, is on US Highway 71 where it crosses Interstate 94. Once in town, Highway 71 becomes "The Original Main Street." The northern of the town's two traffic lights is at the intersection of Main Street and Sinclair Lewis Avenue. That's where we'll start.

From the corner of "The Original Main Street" and Sinclair Lewis Avenue in downtown Sauk Centre, you can see St. Paul's, the church where the Shrine is.

In this picture, you're looking east on Sinclair Lewis Avenue, near Main Street: That's the steeple of St. Paul's church, a little over a block away.

The Merciful Jesus Carving is inside St. Paul's church, at 304 Sinclair Lewis Avenue. If there isn't a parking spot open on the street, go around the block: There is a parking lot in back, north of the church.

Once inside, you'll find The Merciful Jesus Carving at the front of the church, to the right of the altar.
